Kobera, Jakub ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Carboch, Jan (referee)
Title: Comparison of selected parameters in Barbora Krejčíkova's matches at the French Open 2021 Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is comparing the selected parameters in each Barbora Krejčíkova's match at the French Open 2021. I compare following parameters: the pace of the game, the count of the selected rallies (after serve from the left side and from the right side, after first serve and second serve), the count of winners in the selected rallies and the place from where the winner was played (baseline or net). Methods: The main method in this thesis is notational system analyses. It is an indirect observation of video records. The records contain all seven matches with Barbora Krejčíková at the French Open 2021. The monitored variables are the pace of the game (count as rally time divided by number of shots in that rally), how many of selected rallies was played after: serve from left side, serve from right side, first serve, second serve and count of winners from the selected rallies played from the baseline or from the net. I select the rally in case that there are four or more shots played in the rally. Results: In the three set matches Krejčíková is less points ahead than in the two set matches. In the first rounds the percentage of rallies that I can select increase with each...

Svobodová, Alice ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Carboch, Jan (referee)
Title: The game pace in tennis in the women's category at the Prague Open 2021. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to find out what is the tempo of the game at Prague Open 2021, to compare the difference in the tempo of the game in matches from the first rounds and from the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals. Methods: The method of indirect observation is used in this thesis. In total, 14 matches were analysed to evaluate the average of individual variables at Prague Open 2021. The total number of players was N = 14 with an average placement of WTA M = 12 ± 226. The monitored variables consist of (rally time, time out length and the number of hits). The game pace was calculated from the rally game and the number of hits. Results: The average game pace is 1,139 s at Prague Open 2021. The average rally length is 5, 79 s, the average number of hits is 21,68 s. In this thesis the first rounds of the tournament were compared to the final rounds. In the final rounds, the average game pace at the Prague Open 2021 accelerated by 0,12 s. Key words: game pace, Prague Open 2021, tennis, time

Dušek, Přemysl ; Carboch, Jan (advisor) ; Kočíb, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Analysis of squash rally pace in male and women matches Objectives: This paper aims to evaluate the game pace of squash from the perspective of various factors, such as: gender of players, difference between winners and losers, number of strikes within different height levels of front wall, average duration of a rally, and types of strikes. Methods: The main method used to achieve the objectives of this thesis is the notational analysis. This method is based on observing the available video recordings - there were 25 of these, obtained from different PSA tournaments in years 2017 - 2020. We were sampling data about the duration of a rally, number and type of strikes and a duration of each type. Subsequently, we deducted information about the pace of the game and used it to further analyze and interpret the pace in relation to possible variables.. Results: The objective of the paper has been completed, as we have answered all the research questions. The average pace of the serve is 1.345 seconds for men and 1.388 seconds for women, while the average duration of rally is 25.06 seconds for male players and 17.22 seconds for female players. The results suggest that the game pace, its relevant variables, game development and final results are different for male and female squash players....

Title: Comparison of selected characteristics of men's matches on international level of a lower category Objectives: The objective of this thesis is to find out what the game pace was at Maia Open 2019 and at RPM Prague Open 2019, and to compare the difference in game pace from matches in the first rounds to matches in the final rounds of the tournament (the semifinal and final), then compare match characteristics between tournaments and find out effect of a serve on game pace. Methods: The methods used in this thesis are indirect observation and system notation analysis. When evaluating the overall average of all variables from 10 matches at Maia Open 2019, the number of players was N = 17, with an average placement of ATP M = 442,8 ± 272,0. When evaluating the overall average of all variables from 10 matches at RPM Prague Open 2019, the number of players was N = 13, thereof players N = 8 with an average placement of ATP M = 529,0 ± 77,6 and players N = 5 with an average placement of ITF M = 832,6 ± 578,6. The monitored variables were rally time, time out length and the number of hits. The game pace was calculated from the rally time and the number of hits. The relationship load was evaluated from the time out lenght and the rally time. Results: The average game pace is 1,36 s at Maia Open 2019....

Methods: The methods used in this thesis are indirect observation and system notation analysis. When evaluating the overall average of all variables from 7 matches, the number of players was N=12, with an average placement of M=45,09 ± 38,09. The monitored variables were rally time, time out length and the number of hits. The game pace was calculated from the time out length and the number of hits. The relationship load was evaluated from the rally time and the number of hits. Results: The average game pace is 1,27s. The average rally length is 5,33s, the average number of hits is 5,47 and the average time between rallies is 18,9s.
